BTA Berkeley Technology Associates - Date: 1998 |
|
| |
I entered Berkeley Technology Associates as a Marketing Specialist. BTA, as its name suggests, was started by Professors from the Electrical Engineering Dept of UC Berkeley. Many of its top executives were also faculty affiliated with the school. BTA specialized in circuit simulatotion softwares for chip desginers.
While working for BTA, I was given the tasks of promotions, tradeshows and PR coordination. I created their first company profile and made pamphlets for conferences, coordinated tradeshows and exchanged dialogs between managment, publicists, and members of the engineering and sales departments. |

Marcom Manager for 4 different companies. |
|
|
Conclusion: I still love all activities affliliated with marketing promotions and communications so I joined these organizations, starting with NetMotion, Inc., which hired me initially.
NetMotion, Inc. is an industrial parts and supplies distributor. RealRead, Inc. is a software and service provider for publishing on-line documents. Semix, Inc. distributes and service semiconductor equipment. Earthship USA manufactures refrigerations units that runs on air only without any harmful chemicals such as ammonia and chloro-fluorocarbon.
As a Marcom Manager for these four companies, the major task on hand is to juggle different projects between 4 companies without running into glitches. All four companies carry very different products, therefore, multi-tasking becomes an art that I must master.
My responsibilities include communication between the sales team, publicists, and executives with projects ranging from strategic promotional planning, product announcements, marketing collateral, tradeshow coordination, web development, advertisement and corporate ID. It's imperative to perfect and come up with the most effective marketing solutions and still work within the company's budget and deadlines.
Over the years I have proven myself to these companies I work for. Superiors have entrusted in me to make sound recommendations and decisions. Being able to work on different projects simultaneously enables me to be creative in prioritizing and delegating tasks based on their time restraints.
It's always rewarding to see an influx of sales inquiry and soaring sales figures after conducting successful promotional campaigns.
Teamwork and open communication are very important steps in the process of coming up with brilliant ideas which lead to successful sales and marketing strategies. The culmulation of expertise and experience from different individuals with different skillsets has got to be one of the most valuable asset within an organization. "Two brains work better than one' still holds true.
I feel most energetic when I have full understanding of the company goals and direction and be able to involve myself in the marketing project from beginning to the end and tackle any problems that might arise.
Confidence is gained from believing oneself and never give up no matter how harsh the situation presents itself. I have come to realize that everything can be resolved if I put my mind to it.
